The Swedish-built and designed Saab JAS 39 Gripen is a single-engine, single-seat multi-role all-weather fighter. Originally intended to replace the aging J-37 Viggen, it surpasses its older, larger brother in many ways. The new Gripen (Swedish for Gryphon) utilizes fourth-generation technology, an efficient augmented turbofan engine, all-digital fly-by-wire controls, and canard wing control surfaces. The Gripen is capable of carrying nearly all ordnance available to NATO allies. For FS2004 and FSX Features.
full FSX (SP1/SP2/Acceleration Pack) compatibility. I was initially skeptical about buying this airport. The developer is unknown to me and the pictures of the airport don't convey a very flattering image. However, because it was, for me, a well sited Japanese airport I took the plunge and purchased it. I'm glad I did as it is a very nice offering of Kushiro airport at a very reasonable price. The buildings are well represented and the apron is also nicely done.
The only disappointment for me was the ground textures around the airport, but it is somewhat of a minor detail. Well done MFSG, I hope you will offer more of the domestic Japanese airports for P3Dv4.

Saab Jas 39 Gripen
Editorial Having decided to hop into the cockpit of this Swedish air Force version of the old SAAB JAS39, I thought it would be fun to give it a bit of a different take than usual. Rather than just doing some basic flights and not really pushing myself, I decided that if I was going to hop into the cockpit of a fighter jet that I’d best do it properly! With this mod, then, I decided to take off into the skies and try out some time attack events as well as some tricks in the sky. What I got back was an aircraft that was brutally fast and capable of hitting any time I was setting (within reason) but also an aircraft that handled brilliantly. A Well-Crafted Recreation The first thing that I noticed with this mod was just well made it was.
With no problems getting it to install or to start flying I soon found that it had no problems with compatibility either. This bad-boy controlled itself with dignity and was very easy to get used to thanks to the various changes made to the flight dynamics and beyond. This made it much easier to control the whole thing as I flew and also made it nice and simple for me to manage the aircraft during any sticky patches I would hit when flying. The recreation, though, was deeply accurate. I spent a lot of time comparing flight dynamics and beyond and soon found that this done a positively marvellous job of making that the case. Its excellent levels of accuracy means that I can fly with the firearms equipped and notice a perform drop in terms of speed, but then have access to the real arsenal. In short, this makes flying a much simpler process than before.
Fun to Fly The most important thing, though, is that it’s easy and fun to fly. It’s got depth and precision within the overall make-up of the aircraft and it also came with a deeply impressive range of changes and systems. Across the board, this made a significant difference to the way that I could handle the aircraft. It was no longer some high-flying piece of tech that I had no real idea about, but it had since become a genuine recreation of some of the most advanced fighter hardware that we have I was hugely impressed with how fun this was to fly around with as well as the impressive nature of the model. From start to finish I loved using this mod and would happily recommend it.

There is no good Gripen worth money on the market at the moment. And since the Gripen is still largely classified aircraft, I don't think we're going to see one anytime soon. Looking at that link you posted, they would have to torture me to get me paying for this. It looks like a joke from FS2002 done by 15yr old dude who just discovered modeling and I don't even want to talk about flight dynamics and avionics.
I'd rather flush those 20€ down the toilet. By the way, isn't the Alphasim one freeware now? I thought it was. If you're into military flying, I would strogly suggest you looking into DCS. When it comes to FSX, why don't you have a look at some nice freeware that is available? For example, Dino Cattaneo has amazing F-14D, F-35A/B/C and T-45C on his blog here: He's also constantly updating those aircraft and they're getting better and better. In fact, F-14D was just updated today.
Or maybe you can have a look at FSXBA Hornet here: It's based on the default F/A-18 in FSX (which is quite horrendous on its own), but adds new and way better flight dynamics, sounds, effects, liveries and many other functions. By the way, I hope you have FSX:Acceleration. All those birds require it and there's really no point in getting into fighters without it.
I never used anything else than Javier's, so I don't know about anything better. There's an oldschool USS Enterprise payware that looks quite nice, but it's 25 bucks. For carrier ops, you'll need aicarriers. It's an application that will let you place your carriers wherever and control them afterwards. It's controlled either by drop down menu or Shift+J in FSX. And obviously the ships, links are up there as well (part 1 and part 2).
If you wish to spice up your carrier ops even more, there's a convenient application called vLSO (virtual landing signal officer). It'll comunicate with you on final (you can even get waved off) and it also has greenie board.
Jas 39 Gripen Fighter Jet Overview
As for the airplanes, all the free stuff I linked before is carrier-based. Including T-45C, so you can do it just like in real life with trainer aircraft first:wink.
